The Tea Party in the Woods

Akiko Miyakoshi

To put it simply, I absolutely adore this book. It’s sweet and innocent and the drawings are magical. It makes a wonderful gift as I know it will delight all readers that come across its path. There are many small details in the drawings that you will miss the first several times you read the book so keep looking. There is enough suspense to keep those pages turning but audiences will be delighted on what she stumbles upon in the woods. The illustrations are mostly in pencil with a few splashes of color strategically placed throughout the story. If you don’t have this book please add it your library list. Or better yet, Amazon Prime it as I know this is one you will want to keep in your library for many years.

The author has written several other books, including The Piano Recital, The Way Home in the Night, I Dream of a Journey and The Storm.

ACTIVITY: This one is pretty obvious. Tea Party! If it's nice then head outside with a blanket. Get those boys involved by serving treats/food they like to eat. Believe me, if they like it, they will sip it from a tea cup or eat it from a flower saucer.
