Wolf in the Snow
Wolf in the Snow
Matthew Cordell
A little girl is lost in a snowstorm. A wolf pup is lost, too. Discover how they find their way home in this wordless picture book.
Activity: Have your child tell the story. My son had never seen the book before and made up a wonderful story based on the pictures. I typed while he told the story. When he finished with “The End”, I told him congratulations! He wrote his first complete story! He was so excited and the proud smile on his face was everything. The more often they do this you can suggest more detailed descriptions, harder words, better transitions, etc. Below are a few sentences he came up with his first time doing this exercise.
“The girl meets the wolf, she is terrified. The baby wolf is cold and crying. The girl picks him up. She tries to make the wolf walk but he falls in the snow. She picks him back up. The baby wolf hears a familiar howl. The girl and the wolf are really cold and are following the footsteps in the snow.”
