Book #32
The Wall in the Middle of the Book

I’m a fan of this book! As soon as I read it I knew a corresponding activity that would be fun for the kids. This was part of our read-aloud series I did on FB during the first couple weeks of Covid-19. The knight believed the wall was protecting him from something scary on the other side. What happens when his side becomes dangerous? Who will save him?

Activity: Check out my “1 Book a Day-Kids” FB group to see the video or other book reviews. To give you the cliff note version on here: I drew something scary on one side of the wall and something that makes me happy on the other side. Then I altered, on a separate piece of paper, the scary creature so it was no longer scary. Brainstorm with you child what they are afraid of or what scares them. How can they alter it so it now makes them laugh? Spiders were a popular choice in our house so we changed him to a dancing spider with shoes and a hat.
